The Boy’s Brigade
The Boy’s Brigade is a Christian
Youth Organisation committed to providing a safe environment in which boys and young men can develop socially and emotionally
towards mature adulthood. The object of the Brigades the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys, and the promotion
of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness. A normal
night for the boys would start with an opening worship. There could be topics related to world news, religious or cultural
festivals or spiritual matters and this would be delivered at the child’s level to help each understand and enjoy the
service. We would then move on to badge work where there is a balanced approach covering; Mind, Body, Creative & Spiritual
work.
We finish our evening with a closing prayer. The Boys thoroughly enjoy this program. The older boys enjoy doing badge work
and have more responsibility giving them a sense of pride and maturity. The boys always feel that the night is never long
enough, saying “is that us finished already, oh no!” New members would be made to feel most welcome by our committed
leaders and all the boys. They would feel part of a group where we have fun learning new experiences from practical fun activities
to learning new life skills. They have an opportunity to make new friends and seek new interests.
